As you know we have been unable to serve dinners in the hall this year. This is due to having to keep the children in their class bubbles with the COVID restrictions. Instead the children have been served their dinner in their classroom. As you can imagine this has created a lot more work for the cooking staff and midday supervisors who I would like to thank for all their efforts this year.
Following a recent meeting with the head cook and the catering representative from the Local Authority I want to inform you of a couple of changes that will take place from the start of next week. It has been decided to change one of the meals in the 1st week cycle. Instead of fishcakes the children will receive chicken goujons, mashed potato and beans.
Each day the children will have the option of the meal listed on the menu or if they are a vegetarian, a vegetarian option. Recently, there have been requests for a variety of different options, which is very difficult to accommodate. Therefore if your child does not want the menu or vegetarian option they will be able to have a pack lunch comprising of a tuna or cheese sandwich, a piece of fruit or a biscuit and a drink. On the day that the menu has a roast dinner there will be an option of a meat sandwich. They will be asked in the morning which option they want. Dietary requirements will of course be catered as usual.
Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you have any queries regarding this.
