Book Bags- In Year 1 book bags are sent into school and RETURNED EVERYDAY. However, each child has been put into a reading group at random for Read Write Inc books. Each group will have an allocated day that they will be listened to. Books will be changed and new books will sent home on that allocated day.
This is to give us more time to listen to the children read and provide support or challenge where needed.
Please sign and comment in your childs reading record. These comments can be really useful!
Monday- SHOOTING STARS
Tuesday- FLYING SAUCERS
Please see the tag on your child's book bag to see which day they will be listened to and given a new book.
Oxford Reading Tree books will also come home once a week on a FRIDAY- they should all be returned on a Thursday.
Learning Logs should be returned EVERY THURSDAY and they will be marked and returned on a FRIDAY with a new task.
What is a learning log?
Learning logs are a personalized learning resource for children. Learning challenges and fun tasks will be set by the class teacher. Learning logs encourage children to become a more independent learner.
Learning Logs are a way of allowing parents to see what their child is learning about in school. They create a link between home and school. Learning Logs should be seen as fun and enjoyable, and provide an opportunity for you and your child to work together and discuss what we have been learning about in class.
How will the learning log be used?
The class teacher will provide a learning task in the Learning Log on a weekly basis. This task will be an extension of what the children are learning in class.
Learning logs should be completed by the child with little adult help.
Please return on a THURSDAY. Your child will choose a new book which will then be sent home on the FRIDAY.
