Maths

We are covering many aspects of maths in the nursery. We focus on number recognition and formation, the purposes and uses of money, shape and pattern work. We have adopted the 'Maths Makes Sense' scheme to help with our number formation....All the following number rhymes are sung to the tune of 'Lou Lou skip to my Lou'.
 
Go straight down and that is all x3
To make the number 1.

Swing it round and then go right x3
To make the number 2.

Swing it round and then once more x3
To make the number 3.

Down and slide and cut in half x3
To make the number 4.

Down and around and put on a hat x3
To make the number 5.

Come on down and make a curl x3
To make the number 6.

Slide to the right and slant on down x3
To make the number 7.

Make an S then go straight home x3
To make the number 8.

Make a loop and come straight down x3
To make the number 9.
