I hope everyone is well and keeping safe. I will be putting a variety of Forest school inspired links and activities up in our home learning area which I hope the children will enjoy doing. I’d love to see some photos of their creations. If you complete an activity and want to share it, please take a picture of the activity ( emitting the child’s picture) and I will put it on this F/ S page. If you have any questions or anything you’d like to share please drop me an email.
Many thanks, Mrs Nikki Land

Morning All, it promises to be a bright and cheery morning so our plan is to make the most of all things Forest School with class 2LC. There is still a chill in the air and chance of rain, so please ensure the pupils come snuggly dressed and wellie booted.

Today 2ER will be looking more closely at the treasure found on the school grounds and trying to work out where it originally came from and why it was buried here. Let’s solve this mystery!
What a wonderful couple of days we’ve had, they have been jam packed! The weather has been perfect and allowed us to make the most of our outdoor space.
Wednesday was filled with Mini den and shelter building, Canopy watching and the start of our ‘ Ugly Bug Ball’ dance, gym and movement workshop.
Thursday morning saw us create gigantic bubbles, design playground chalk super heroes; and plant some exciting seeds. Thursday afternoon allowed us to enjoy some stories to celebrate World Book day and perform our creative ‘Ugly Bug Ball’ masterpieces.
Next Monday ( 9th March 2020) will be Forest School for 2ER- please keep everything crossed for more glorious weather!
Please see below, pictures from our den building activities from yesterday.

Officially it is Spring! Sadly, tomorrow looks like the winds are increasing throughout the morning, so unless conditions change we will be staying on-site. The good news is that some interesting treasure has been buried on the school grounds and the children from 2LC will need their Forest school clothing and map reading skills to locate a mystery box.
February 2020 Today we’ve been outside in the wonderful crisp spring air collecting natural material for our ‘Tim Pugh’ inspired environmental art work. 2LC have made some really creative pieces using twigs, leaves, seed pods, stones and even ice!
See below for examples of their wonderful work.

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. Tomorrow’s Forest school plans have altered a little and I will now be running onsite sessions for both classes. The weather looks bright and breezy, ideal for being outside. As well as our planned Forest School activities we’ll be starting to get our year 2 garden spring ready. If anyone has any left over bulbs that they are willing to donate, it would be very much appreciated. ☀️
