First Aid Visit from First Response - Welsh Ambulance Service
Wednesday 24th October - Pictures of our Class having First Aid Training from the First Response Unit for Welsh Ambulance Service.
The children were shown how to check for breathing, checking airways, to ring 999 and how to put their patience's into the recovery position.
We learnt D.R ABC to help us learn the steps to helping someone who is very poorly:
D - Danger - Check for danger around the patient
R - Response - Does the patient respond to you shouting their name or tapping their shoulders?
A - Airway - Is their airway blocked? You can check this by tilting their head back and looking in their mouth.
B - Breathing - Are they breathing? Place your cheek by the patient's mouth and look down at their belly button. Can you see their belly or chest moving or can you feel their breath or you cheek?
C - Circulation - if they are not breathing you may need to start CPR by pressing firmly on their chest 'hard and fast'.
