Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year!!

On Monday 23rd January we will be celebrating Chinese New Year.
We will discuss what the festival is about and talk about our own experiances of things we have seen or heard, or if we have ever tried any Chinese food. Learning about other festivals develops the childrens respect and understanding of other cultures. Please talk to you children about Chinese New Year and use the links below.

The children will be-

  • Creative Development and Mathematical Development- making red lucky envelopes with paper and decorating them. We will be placing gold coins in them as 'good luck'.
  • LLC and Creative- trying to copy some Chinese writing.
  • Creative Development and Physical- making dragon dances with ribbons and musical instruments in the outdoor area.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the world- Tasting prawn crackers and a sweet and sour dip.
