Year 5 November 2017 – a Few Reminders!

· Pupils should read every day, even confident readers. Reading should be recorded in diaries. Reading books should be in school every day.

· Please ask your child about their targets and support them if they wish to develop them at home too.

· My Maths (www.mymaths.co.uk) should be used at least once per week if accessible at home. They can use this to work on their target as well as play fun maths games.

· Spelling homework should be returned on Thursdays. The test will be on Thursday too. Pupils are expected to gain full marks where appropriate.

· Mental arithmetic tests are on Thursdays. Pupils are expected to have practised for it at home.

· Outdoor PE kits are needed on Wednesdays. Please consider the weather and ensure there are warm clothes if necessary.

· Pupils are expected to have a blue handwriting pen in school every day.

· If you have Welsh-speaking family or friends, please encourage your child to converse with them.

· Please encourage your child to learn all the times tables; they really do help!

· Please check that all belongings are labelled – we have already accumulated a lot of lost property!
