* Carnival Day *

Our Year 1 Carnival Day was a huge success! During the day the children had their face painted and decorated cakes to sell at the Carnival. In the afternoon we had our Carnival and the children paraded with their masks, headdresses and shakers which they had all made! We then performed our Carnival dance and sold our handmade bracelets as part of our Enterprise project! Thank you for buying them, all proceeds will go to charity and thank you to everybody who came to watch! The children thoroughly enjoyed it!

Seesaw

We will be using Seesaw as an online journal to record some of the things the children have been learning.

We will be taking lots of photos and videos of the children and they will be taking their own photos of things they have done. We will be sharing these with you at Parents Evening.

Spanish Day

We have had a fantastic day despite the windy weather!

We learnt some facts about Spain and created a poster to advertise Fiesta d'Espana!

We answered simple questions in Spanish and had a go at counting!

In the afternoon we went in the hall for a dance and listened to lots of Spanish music including the Spanish National Anthem!

Finally we tasted some Spanish food including olives, chorizo and Spanish omelette!

Thank you for dressing the children in red, yellow and colourful clothes!

Enhanced Provision in the different areas of the classroom.

We have been very busy in all the areas of the classroom. We have been learning about symmetry and sorting by different criteria in the Maths and Creative areas.

In the Literacy area we have been making words using magnetic letters!

We have also been making faces and buildings in the Construction area to develop our Welsh skills.

We have also been using Beebot in the ICT area and using our imagination in the Small world house.
